How to Apply for Your Florida DBPS Facial Specialist License
Step #1 - Make Sure You're Eligible
You have to be eligible before you apply for your Florida DBPS Facial Specialist License. This means you will need to complete the following requirements:
You must complete an approved Florida Esthetician program like the one from Alpha
You will need at least 220 practical work hours
If you have a cosmetology license from another state with requirements comparable to those of Florida and you have at least 220 practical hours of work, you will also qualify.
Step #2 - Complete the Application
After you complete your training program, you will need to complete your application. This can be done online by going here.
The same application form is used for cosmetologists, facial specialists, nail specialists, and full specialists) those qualified to provide both facial and nail services).
You will need to complete the proper sections for Facial Specialists. These sections include sections I-II and IV-VI. It's necessary to provide basic information, including your social security number, address, and other details.
You will also need to provide background information, including any criminal records or license revocation. After entering this information, you will need to have an official from your Esthetician school complete section IV for you.
Step #3 - Submit Your Documents
You will submit your application, along with a few other things, to the Department of Business and Professional Services, including:
